Automating SPCC Technical Changes and Corrective Actions
To get a basin-wide inventory of all equipment at sites that may require SPCC plans and to create a database that could easily manage data and automate certified SPCC plans, when appropriate.
LTE conducted an equipment inventory of over 1,100 oil and gas sites in the San Juan Basin in Colorado and New Mexico. LTE implemented an innovative use of electronic tablets with customized data-logging sheets to collect field data. Our creative development of Smart Forms with dropdowns promoted fieldwork accuracy and efficiency. Data collected on site included various fields for site, equipment, and secondary containment descriptions. LTE field inspectors took multiple pictures of each piece of equipment. Geographic information system (GIS) personnel remotely tabulated data including surface owner, distance to water features, distance to pipelines, etc. All Data and photographs were uploaded to the database.
Once completed, the database produced information sheets for each piece of equipment. Additionally, the database was used to sort data and create spreadsheets and Keyhole Markup language Zipped (KMZ) files specific to the client’s request and needs. Our approach created an efficient and innovative process that provided the client with data they could trust.
